MAP Sensor System
Step 1 - Turn Map Pre-Set Knob counter clockwise all the way.
Step 2 - Start engine, adjust fuel pressure, synchronize throttle bodies, and adjust the idle speed. (Refer to the Fuel Injection Manual for fuel pressure settings.)
Step 3 - Adjust Idle A/F Control Knob by turning counter clockwise (lean). Listen to the idle RPM and smoothness as you are turning the knob, when the engine idle begins to become rough, stop! Now begin to turn the Idle A/F Knob clockwise (rich) gradually until the idle begins to smooth back out and levels off. At this point the Idle A/F is set.
Important: Do not adjust Idle A/F Control Knob past the point of the idle RPM leveling back out. Doing so will create an over rich condition.
Step 4 - Turn the MAP Pre-Set Control Knob clockwise until the RED L.E.D. light begins to flash. When the L.E.D. begins to flash, stop turning the knob. Slowly turn the knob back (Counter-Clockwise) until the L.E.D. stops flashing.
Important: Do not continue to turn the MAP Pre-Set Knob past the point where it stops flashing. Doing so will cause a lean condition at off idle speeds.
Step 5 - Drive the vehicle. The W.O.T Control Knob needs to be set when the engine is under full load W.O.T conditions. Adjust the knob rich or lean for best overall power output.
Important: DO NOT attempt to adjust any controls at cruising speeds. Doing so will create rich or lean conditions at idle and W.O.T.
