It's all new, and designed to run on high performance engines. Our Competition Fuel Injection is a basic no frills fuel injection system, and yet it's so advanced you can actually tune it while you drive! Low speed, midrange, and upper end performance are controlled from the drivers seat. Expensive lap top computers are not required. Just dial it in! CFI is easier to tune than dual carburetors, and it doesn't have any jets to plug or floats to spill over.
Here's how it works. The computer senses engine RPM. Engine load is determined by the TPS and relayed to the computer. An electronic sensor keeps track of engine temperature.
While the engine is running, the computer fires the injectors. The Injector pulse width, or amount of time the injectors are open, is determined by the computer. The pulse width is noted in Injector pulse widths can range from 1.9 mls during idle speed to over 9.0 mls at full throttle.
Selecting the correct injector size is the key to peak performance. The task of proper injector selection is made easy by the fact the modern electronic injectors are rated in pounds of fuel per hour. Engine fuel consumption can be quickly translated to the proper injector size by looking at various tables, or converting projected horsepower requirements into pounds of fuel per hour. Even if your choice of injectors is not 100% exact, the dash mounted tuning module allows you to trim the injector pulse width to match your engine size and camshaft timing. The tuning module actually helps you design a fuel curve that will run your engine at it's maximum potential. You can run unleaded fuel right out of the pump, or leaded and alcohol supplemented racing fuel. CFI runs with any breaker point, solid state or HEI distributor. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to install our new fuel injection system. Just bolt it on, install the fuel lines, and fuel pump, snap on the harness and fire it up!
Competition Fuel Injection kits are shipped with throttle bodies, fuel injectors, fuel rails, fuel filter, fuel pump, intake manifolds, Cross Bar Linkage, Filstar air filters and hardware.
