This Genuine VW Electronic Distributor (043-905-205-N) is the correct Hall-effect distributor used on Mexican-production 1600i EFI engines. Unlike mechanical-advance distributors used on carbureted applications, this unit provides a clean Hall signal to the EFI ECU, which then handles all ignition timing, dwell, and advance mapping. The cap features the factory insulated shell required to reduce EMI interference and ensure stable crank-angle signals for EFI operation.

  • VW Type 1 (Beetle) – 1600i EFI engines (Mexico) 1993–2004
  • VW “Última Edición” 2003 fuel-injected Beetle
  • Mexican 1600i EFI crate engines using factory ECU ignition control
  • Brazilian EFI engines using insulated-cap Hall-effect distributors (verify connector)

  • Not interchangeable with distributor BAA-905-205-C, which is for carbureted engines and uses mechanical advance.
  • Not interchangeable with conventional SVDA / points-type distributors.
