Original valve cover gaskets were wide enough to require pinching between the perimeter of the valve cover and the two tabs provided for that very purpose, and they were thick enough to give the bales some work when you pulled them up. Most new gaskets, FelPro and Victor Reinz and others are hideously skinny and thin and prone to buckling out of position. These here actually seemed to almost hit the original dimensions once more, and for that, I am eternally grateful ... so long as they don't subsequently cheap-out.
