Sway-A-Way 4203 Heavy-Duty Spring Plates - IRS, 26 9/16"

Upgrade your VW IRS rear suspension with genuine Sway-A-Way heavy-duty spring plates. These spring plates are manufactured from .250" thick spring steel and are designed for IRS applications using 26 9/16" torsion bars.

The 7.810" splined collar is precision welded to the spring plate and matches the long 26 9/16" torsion bar configuration. The silver zinc plated finish provides corrosion protection while maintaining the classic Sway-A-Way appearance.

These are a substantial upgrade over stock spring plates and are well suited for performance street cars, off-road applications, sand cars and other vehicles where additional spring plate strength is desired.

Typical applications include: Later Type-1 and Type-3 IRS rear suspension configurations using 26 9/16" long rear torsion bars. Because torsion bar length can vary by model, year and previous suspension modifications, verify the existing torsion bar length before ordering.

Sway-A-Way offers different spring plate collar lengths to match different torsion bar lengths. The torsion bar and spring plate collar must be matched correctly so the splines engage properly.

IMPORTANT: Measure or verify your existing torsion bar length before ordering. These spring plates are not interchangeable with the shorter 21 3/4" or 24 11/16" torsion bar versions.

NOTE: Some early IRS vehicles equipped with original single-plate spring plates may require drilling an additional mounting hole in the Sway-A-Way spring plate. Verify your existing spring plate configuration before installation.

This #4203 set is part of Sway-A-Way's standard heavy-duty spring steel series and should not be confused with their more specialized 4130 Chromoly Race Series.

The #4203 plates use .250" thick spring steel construction and are an excellent choice for performance, off-road and heavy-duty applications without requiring the race series spring plates.
