Description

Sway-A-Way 2261 Swing Axles are designed for custom VW swing-axle applications requiring a 23 11/16" short-spline axle, 3" shorter than the standard 26 11/16" configuration. Sway-A-Way lists this axle for drag-car applications using a narrowed rear suspension. Manufactured from forged aircraft alloy steel, each axle is precision machined, heat treated and centerless ground for a smooth, consistent finish.

Unlike the tapered center section of a stock axle, Sway-A-Way maintains a consistent center diameter all the way to the spline. This design allows the axle to twist under heavy loads, helping absorb drivetrain shock and reduce the chance of transaxle damage.

23 11/16" short-spline axle configuration

Not a direct replacement for a stock-width VW rear suspension. These axles are 3" shorter than the standard 26 11/16" swing axle and require axle tubes and related rear suspension components configured for the shorter axle length. Verify the completed suspension dimensions before ordering.

This part is for swing-axle applications and is not compatible with IRS rear suspension.

VW swing-axle length and spline configuration vary by application. Custom shortened axles also require a rear suspension specifically configured for the selected axle length. Verify your existing axle and rear suspension dimensions before ordering.
