Let's face it, they break and wear out. You can replace yours with a little patience and clever finger moves. If your shift rod jumps around and makes funny sounds, check it out. Go for the small plastic bushing (111-701-259A) first, if that doesn't do the job, replace the whole unit. Your tranny will thank you. They fit all VW Sedans.
