Description

Heavy Duty Stock Width x 1" Longer Rear Trailing Arms are designed for lifted VW IRS applications where additional rear suspension travel and improved wheel placement are desired without increasing rear track width.

By moving the rear wheel approximately 1" farther back while retaining the factory track width, these arms help re-center the rear tire within the fender opening after the rear suspension has been raised. They are an excellent choice for Baja Bugs, lifted Beetles, sand cars and other off-road VW applications where added suspension travel is needed without widening the rear of the vehicle.

Extended trailing arms require the correct axle and CV-joint combination for the transmission and suspension configuration being used. Although these arms retain the stock rear track width, the additional 1" of rearward wheel position changes the axle-length requirement compared with stock-length arms. Tire diameter, wheel offset and suspension travel should be checked for adequate body and fender clearance.

Always verify the required axle length based on the transmission, CV-joint type and drivetrain placement before ordering axle components.

When installing IRS suspension on a chassis originally equipped with swing axles, CB #4705 Weld-On IRS Control Arm Brackets may also be required. These brackets are intended specifically for IRS conversion work and are not normally required on an original IRS chassis.
