ICON Forged Piston & Ring Kit – 94mm Big Bore (C-Pin)

Manufactured from high-silicon 4032 forged alloy, these pistons offer exceptional wear resistance, minimal thermal expansion, and allow for tight piston-to-wall clearances—ideal for high-performance street and track engines alike. The hard anodized top land and ring grooves enhance durability under high-compression or forced induction conditions, while the M42 skirt coating reduces friction for long-term performance.

C-Pin height pistons are designed for long-stroke crankshafts and custom rod combinations, making them an ideal choice for large-displacement stroker builds. Compatible with 86mm Type 1 crankshafts, this kit is engineered for strength, reliability, and flexibility across a wide range of aircooled VW engine configurations. Precision-machined to maintain a .002"–.0025" piston-to-cylinder wall clearance with Mahle 94mm Barrels (1038). For turbocharged applications, we recommend our Race Ready Barrels (1020) for added strength and durability.

Each kit includes:

4 balanced forged pistons
Complete ring set (1.2 x 1.2 x 3mm)
Wrist pins and clips

Assembly Notes: Barrel spacers or copper head shims will be needed to dial in deck height. Always verify deck height and valve-to-piston clearance during assembly. 90.5, 92 & 94mm Big Bore Kits require machining the cylinder heads and engine case before installation. Clean all parts and ensure proper ring gap is set before installation. See additional instructions from ICON.
