Builder's Choice Engine Kits
- During our tests, the 1179-Gas Saver Kit (1904cc - 74 x 90.5), using dual ICT Weber carburetors, achieved 90 hp and 130 ft/lbs. of torque! Optionally, this kit can be used with a stock Solex 34 PICT (jetted accordingly), Dual Kadron, Solex, Weber IDF, and Dellorto DRLA or FRD carburetors. We have seen as high as 39 mpg with this engine kit in a late model VW Beetle with a 3.88 ring and pinion and .089 4th gear.
NOTES:
- OEM Quality Brass Distributor Drive Gears are NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Due to this, CBP no longer supplies them in the Builders Choice Engine Kits and recommends engine builders source a quality used OEM gear instead of inferior reproductions currently being offered.
- CBP only offers Completely Balanced Engine Kits to ensure your new engine build is if off to a great start! Proper balancing helps reduce vibrations, minimizes wear on bearings and other moving parts, and can even improve efficiency and power delivery.
- For those with minimal or no engine building experience / knowledge, CBP recommends you always consult a qualified engine builder for assembly instructions, tuning, and proper break-in procedures.
